Sheila Jackson Lee Plays The Race Card

It never ceases to amaze me that certain people label others as a racist when they don’t go along with what they want, especially in politics. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Republicans or the Democrats, they both do it when it suits their needs. It seems that it’s the Democrats turn to do it with Sheila Jackson Lee leading the charge.

On Friday, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Tx) insinuated in a very strong manner that some members of Congress are against raising the debt ceiling because President Obama‘s race.

On the House floor this past Friday Jackson Lee is quoted, “I do not understand what I think is the maligning and maliciousness [toward] this president,” said Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. “Why is he different? And in my community, that is the question that we raise. In the minority community that is question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully? Why has the debt limit been raised 60 times? Why did the leader of the Senate continually talk about his job is to bring the president down to make sure he is unelected?”

She also had the nerve to say that Obama has been targeted like no other president before him. Her comment being, “I am particularly sensitive to the fact that only this president — only this one, only this one — has received the kind of attacks and disagreement and inability to work, only this one,” said Jackson Lee from the House floor.

“Read between the lines,” she continued. “What is different about this president that should put him in a position that he should not receive the same kind of respectful treatment of when it is necessary to raise the debt limit in order to pay our bills, something required by both statute and the 14th amendment?”

“I hope someone will say that what it appears to be is not in fact accurate,” said Lee. “But historically it seems to be nothing more.”

I would like to inform Ms. Jackson lee that we can no longer pay our debt as a notion because of all of the other times that Congress raised the debt ceiling. It has nothing to do with anything else. In 2006 when G.W.Bush wanted to raise the debt ceiling (which was wrong then too in my opinion), the Democrats fought against it. What has changed the minds of the left to want to do it now? Is it because they have the power or are they the ones who are being racist?

Democratic Black Caucus Blames The Tea Party

Almost three years after Barack Obama took office, unemployment is higher than it was then. Obama stated in Febuary 2009 that Congress needed to pass the stimulus to prevent the unemployment rate going above 8%. Well thirty months later, the rate is at 9.1% after coming down off the high of 10.2%. To make matters worse, the democratic black caucus has blatantly blamed the TEA Party for the cause of the situation.

Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters and other members of the causus were in Miami Florida this week to rally the troops to put the blame of the economy and other issues on the TEA Party. Earlier this month Maxine Waters said publicly that the TEA Party should go straight to hell. Her comments on Tuesday included her saying, “We have to stand up and fight. It’s fight time…We’re not afraid of the tea party…In this struggle, we have to define who we are, what the president is doing and not let our voices be overshadowed by the tea party.”

Even the State Representative Frederica Wilson (Miami Gardens) has stated that the grassroot movement is “The tea party holds Congress hostage…They have one goal in mind, and that’s to make President Obama a one-term president.”

Ms. Wilson is correct on half of that statement. The part where the TEA Party is trying (along with many Americans) to make sure Obama doesn’t get re-elected.

Jesse Jackson took the stage of the 10 member panel to stoke the fire of the audience. He asked the members to stand if they had a family member in jail, credit card debt as well as a home in foreclosure, a majority of the audience stood up. When asked who voted for Obama, nearly the entire room stood at that point. Mr. Jackson continued to fire up the crowd by his comments of Dr. Martin Luther King. The tea party opposing Obama, Jackson said, should be called the “Fort Sumter Tea Party that sought to maintain states’ rights and slavery.” he continued, “The tea party is a new name on an old game,” he said. “Dr. King fought a ‘tea party’ in Alabama…He had no weapons, but he confronted the tea party.”

This is where I take offense. Dr King was for human rights no matter what the color of the person’s skin is. He fought against racism and inequality towards all people. Dr King didn’t fight against government destruction of the economy or even the government itself. So why would Jackson even use Dr. King is his speech? To insight emotions. The democrats (republicans too) have always used emotions to get the people engaged in taking action. Emotions are what also create the TEA Party too. People being tired of the government not caring about the American person. That is what the TEA party is about, not racism and slavery. The Democrats have been using those two words to describe the group since it first started. They also claim that the group is filled with “terrorists” and “right-wing extremists.

We will never move forward in becoming a single unit of people when influential people like Jackson, Waters and others keep separating us by race, color or sexual orientation. We have to come together as Americans, nothing more and nothing less, if we want to move forward.

Class Warfare Is Just A Tool For Politicians

Over the last 50 years or so, politicians have been using the different classes of people to get themselves re-elected. When the subject of class warfare comes up, the politicians refer to as the rich against the poor, blacks against whites. It’s just another tool for them to use to get the less informed to “buy” into the crap and to vote for them.

The true class warfare is the political class against the citizen class. If you haven’t noticed, the politicians want us to “fight” among ourselves and to take the real focus off of them. It’s amazing how politicians never refer to themselves as rich or wealthy. They don’t want the average citizen to realize that they are also doing financially well. How could the American people who are less fortunate to vote for them if they too are rich and “not paying their fair share”?

While I agree that a good portion of our population is not making ends meet because of their income. Approximately 15% of the U.S. population is living under the poverty level set by the federal government. Currently a family of four making 22,314 is considered to be living at the poverty level. I do agree that making 22,314 a year to support a family of four is low for today’s standard of living, we must also think about where in the country the family is living in. There’s a difference between living in New York City and Mobile, Alabama when you think of the cost of living in those areas. A family may make it just fine in Alabama, but they sure wouldn’t in the Big Apple.

Politicians also like to use the poor as their personal puppets in the battle against the Republicans. It’s a shame that the media doesn’t do a better job in disseminating the facts form the myths. Here are just some facts about the condition the poor are in.

  • The typical “poor” household in America has a car
  • 78% of “poor” households in America have air conditioning
  • 64% of “poor” households in America have cable or satellite TV .. most have two TVs, along with a DVD player and VCR
  • Most “poor” households in America with children have a gaming system such as an Xbox or PlayStation
  • 38% of “poor” households in America have a personal computer
  • Most “poor” households in America have a refrigerator, an oven and stove,
and a microwave. They also have other household appliances such as a
clothes washer, clothes dryer, ceiling fans, a cordless phone, and a coffee maker.
  • The typical “poor” American has more living space than the average European.
  • The typical “poor” American family is able to obtain medical care when needed.
  • The average “poor” household in America claims to have sufficient funds to meet all essential needs.

If you look around the world you will see that most poor people in other countries don’t have it as good as “poor” Americans. We as a whole are doing better than the rest of the world so we need to stop this class warfare game and realize that we live in the best country in the world. If we don’t and we continue to let the politicians use this tactic to get average people fighting among themselves, they (politicians) will be the only winners.

Obama’s Immigration Reform Speech

“President” Obama made his well-announced speech this evening about his plans on immigration reform. His televised speech was to inform the American people how he was going to single-handedly take the necessary steps for roughly 5 million illegal immigrants to take the path to citizenship here in the United States. A path that has been traveled once before when Ronald Reagan along with Congress passed the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

In 1986 the steps taken were constitutional even though the original bill was butchered to get the job done. This year Obama’s plans are to do what “he” feels is the right thing. His plans are to bypass Congress using executive orders. His plans go against what the majority of the American people are clearly asking for from their government.

As for his speech, I totally agree with one comment Obama made this evening. Obama commented by saying…

As for the rest of it, well that is a whole other thing. Obama claiming to actively work on immigration issues since he took office is correct, but not in the way he presented it. In his speech, he states he increased border patrol agents and technology. In turn securing the borders and decreasing the number of illegal immigrants that crossed the border in the past six years.

While I agree with him being active, I’m sure I’m not the only one who remembers how Obama and friends tried to work on obama univision immigration reform. How about his handling of the Bill which was passed in Arizona in 2010. Let’s not forget Obama’s top cop Eric Holder working with him on the Fast and Furious scandal. Those are just two of the many ways Obama has been working hard for our national security. I won’t even mention the Feds over-reach of power when it comes to American citizens protecting their own land along the border.

In his speech, Obama points out how Congress had put forth a bill which did not pass because of the “Republicans in the House” wouldn’t allow it. It really pains me to see the so-called leader of the free world act like a child who didn’t get his way and is now going to leave with his ball. Too bad Obama if it doesn’t go the way you wanted. We have a representative republic here in America and if you were looking to be a king or dictator, you should have gone some where else like Kenya or the Middle East.

As in 1986, President Reagan and Congress had good intention (so they say) and we the People believe in our elected officials to do the right thing and keep to their word, we can’t expect any different approach to how this time it will be done correctly. All it will do (in my opinion), is to make it more appealing to sneak into this country illegally so in another thirty years, we can have this same situation again. His speech was nothing more than political tactic being used to prepare for the 2016 election. Obama has no legal authority to go forth with these plans of his towards making over five million illegal immigrants citizens. Obama should be impeached if he actually signs any executive order in regards to his immigration reform speech.
