Cap And Trade Bill

Posted by Billy On June - 29 - 2009

Unless you’ve been too busy or live under a rock in a far away place, You are aware that last Friday Congress voted on the Cap and Trade bill (aka, cap and tax). The bill is designed by the Obama Administration to basically tax everything that emits carbon. If you’re thinking that this bill is aimed at big business and the energy sector, you’re only half right.

This will tax everything. That includes flatulent cows, that’s right cows that pass wind. It doesn’t just end there. the truck driver who drivers the cow to the slaughter house. Let’s not forget the wrapping the is needed to package the meat. All the different processing plants that are needed to get the meat to your plate. Everyone of them will have to pay higher taxes to the government because of the carbon dioxide that they produce.

If you think that won’t affect you, you are dead wrong. It’s a known fact that these costs will be passed on to the consumer.

All in the name of global warming. That’s right we are going to be taxed more to help save the entire planet from a chemical that is a basic necessity for the world to survive. The global warming concern is nothing but a political move to redistribute wealth. Many African countries don’t have an infrastructure system and don’t emit carbon emissions, so counties like America (especially the U.S.) will have to buy the carbon credits from those countries, henceforth wealth distribution.

I expect that type of planning from the Democrats but to see Republicans join the crusade is not. The final vote was 219-212 for the bill. There were eight Republicans that voted for the bill. We need to send a clear message to those eight members of Congress that helped the Democrats raise our taxes. The only way to do so is to call them and let them know that we will not contribute to their campaign because we aren’t going to vote for them.

Here are the names and phone numbers to their office. There is time for them to change their vote and if they want any chance of being re-elected, they will have to do so.

Bono Mack (CA) 202-225-5330
Castle (DE) 202-225-4165
Kirk (IL) 202-225-4835
Lance (NJ) 202-225-5361
Lobiondo (NJ) 202-225-6572
McHugh (NY) 202-225-4611
Reichart (WA) 202-225-7761
Chris Smith (NJ) 202-225-3765

Remember that when you call them to inform them of your dissatisfaction, you must state that you are a contributor. If you don’t, they really don’t care what you have to say (which is a whole other story). They only care about their campaign fund and their own wallets. Which is another reason why we need to vote all of them out when they’re up for re-election.

Posted by Joanne On November - 7 - 2008

We just created a new forum for those of us who did not vote for Obama. It will be a private forum and registration is required to join and post.

We’re a new community of people brought together because have one thing in common (we may come to find that we have a lot more in common, but we have one thing that brought us here) and that is that we did not vote for Obama. The next four years will be a trying time for us and this forum will serve as a place for us to vent, get information and share our thoughts with others who understand.

Photos From Palin’s Florida Rally!

Posted by Joanne On November - 1 - 2008

My family & I attended a Sarah Palin rally’s today in Central Florida. There were thousands of people there to hear her speak. The crowd was upbeat, even after standing in the Florida sun for hours, and cheering her on. :) I also saw quite a few “Democrats For McCain” shirts today, which was great. :)

An article from Ocala.com on today’s rally.

Here’s a video from today and then some pictures that I took.

McCain Is Trusted More On Taxes And Economy

Posted by Joanne On October - 30 - 2008

From Rasmussen:

After several weeks of John McCain’s campaign attacks on Barack Obama’s tax plan and idea of “spreading the wealth around”, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds voters trust McCain more than Obama on taxes, 47% to 45%.

Two weeks ago, Obama had a one point-advantage on the issue of taxes and a month ago, he had a three-point edge. The last time McCain had the advantage on this issue was September 14, just before the collapse of Lehman Brothers started the meltdown on Wall Street (see trends).

McCain also has gained ground as the candidate to trust on economic issues. Forty-eight percent (48%) now trust the Republican hopeful more than the Democrat while 47% hold the opposite view. This is the first time McCain has led on the issue that has hurt his campaign since September 17. One month ago, Obama held a nine-point advantage when it came to economic issues.
