It never ceases to amaze me that certain people label others as a racist when they don’t go along with what they want, especially in politics. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Republicans or the Democrats, they both do it when it suits their needs. It seems that it’s the Democrats turn to do it with Sheila Jackson Lee leading the charge.

On Friday, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Tx) insinuated in a very strong manner that some members of Congress are against raising the debt ceiling because President Obama‘s race.

On the House floor this past Friday Jackson Lee is quoted, “I do not understand what I think is the maligning and maliciousness [toward] this president,” said Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. “Why is he different? And in my community, that is the question that we raise. In the minority community that is question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully? Why has the debt limit been raised 60 times? Why did the leader of the Senate continually talk about his job is to bring the president down to make sure he is unelected?”

She also had the nerve to say that Obama has been targeted like no other president before him. Her comment being, “I am particularly sensitive to the fact that only this president — only this one, only this one — has received the kind of attacks and disagreement and inability to work, only this one,” said Jackson Lee from the House floor.

“Read between the lines,” she continued. “What is different about this president that should put him in a position that he should not receive the same kind of respectful treatment of when it is necessary to raise the debt limit in order to pay our bills, something required by both statute and the 14th amendment?”

“I hope someone will say that what it appears to be is not in fact accurate,” said Lee. “But historically it seems to be nothing more.”

I would like to inform Ms. Jackson lee that we can no longer pay our debt as a notion because of all of the other times that Congress raised the debt ceiling. It has nothing to do with anything else. In 2006 when G.W.Bush wanted to raise the debt ceiling (which was wrong then too in my opinion), the Democrats fought against it. What has changed the minds of the left to want to do it now? Is it because they have the power or are they the ones who are being racist?

Recently, I received a comment from one our many readers and wanted to address a few of this person’s points. The reader Eric, had some choice words after we posted a link to vote in a political poll. The poll was from 2009, but it seems it took Eric a little longer to find it. He commented on June 29, 2011.

Eric’s first sentence in the comment went like this,

All you people do is whine and throw around unguided, random superstitions and wrong information.

All you people??? Eric, we are all Americans and people who make comments like “all you people” want to keep everyone separated. That kind of thinking has been going on too long and it needs stop so we can move forward in this county. And if you really thought all we did was whine and give wrong information you wouldn’t feel so threatened by us. You would have just blown us off as just another misguided political site.

I’d like to hear you guys provide some ideas on the economy, or maybe the least you could is provide a legitimate point.

I’m not quite sure what Eric was talking about because he posted on a poll that is not even open anymore. If “you guys” was directed at Libertarians, then Ron Paul and Alexander Snitker, among other Libertarian minded candidates, had some great ideas, but it fell on deaf ears because these men (especially Mr. Snitker) weren’t taken seriously and given a fair shake in debates. If “you guys” was directed at this site, then your comment proved that you were only here to throw around a few insults because if you would have taken time to actually read some of the posts here, I have provided my ideas and very legitimate points.

You people are delusional. Maybe you’d be happier with Bush who started two wars (that still need to be paid for, under Obama) and turned a budget surplus into a 9 trillion dollar deficit and passed no considerable legislation that did anything besides allowing the Fed. to tap your phone line and check your emails ( oh yeah and he tortured a lot of people). Ya, he’s a good guy, let’s get someone like him.

Partisan and insulting in the same first sentence. I’m not sure if you took the time to notice Eric, but we’re Libertarians. That means we think the Democrats and the Republicans screwed us. Maybe if you read through the site before commenting, you wouldn’t have come across as so misinformed. Eric had a lot to say in these few sentences, so I will address each one separately.

As for being happier having Bush as president. What are my choices? If it’s a toss up between him and Obama, Yes I would want Bush as president. Let’s be for real though, Bush also didn’t do what he needed to when it came to war. Nearly ten years later and I’m still not sure if he had a right to be in Iraq. As for Afghanistan, we should have never been in there. While we’re on the subject, at least Bush did get Congressional approval before entering into these countries. We are now in Libya thanks to Obama decision after listening to the United Nation and NATO. It’s been over 90 days and there is still no justifiable reason from Obama to be there. How come you didn’t mention that Eric?
Lets talk about Eric’s comment about the $9 trillion surplus. There has not been a surplus in the federal government since at least 1969 when the federal government has spent more each year than it had collected in taxes. The so-called surplus was a numbers game for the Democrats. It was a “projected” surplus if Congress and the next President didn’t change a thing. And we all know the neither of them know how to do that.

As for the Patriot Act (if that’s what Eric was referring to since he didn’t mention it by name), The Patriot Act is totally against the Constitution that it should have never been enacted, never mind being renewed by President Obama in 2011(again Eric fail to mention).

So for Eric’s comment of “Ya, he’s a good guy, let’s get someone like him.” NO, let’s not. This country has been taken so far of course from it’s original intent of being a republic, governed by a set of laws, it’s not funny. We need someone who isn’t entrenched in Washington and the good ‘ol boy way of doing business in the Beltway.

One thing we don’t allow here on LeftAndRightPolitics is insults and attacks towards other readers. We want to promote open conversation and dialogue between readers and our authors, but it must be done with respect and not insulting. If you read the comments in the original post, you will notice another reader mentioned using name calling. The comment with the name calling was removed and I apologize for it getting through in the first place.

In response to one of our readers –

You seriously need to CHECK YOUR FACTS. Im pretty sure it was the democrats who passed the CRA. And the Republican Party of Lincoln is not the same Republican party of today. The South was primarily democratic until Civil Rights. You guys sound poor and uneducated, maybe you should consider supporting democrats who are for making progress and taking care of people who aren’t the top 5%, as opposed to the republicans (apart from Ron Paul) who are for “less-government” (who have not allowed Obama a political inch with anything unless it’s banning abortion) and taking care of their rich friends. The president can’t just wave a wand and make all of your lives perfect. This you’d know if you actually used your brain.

Anyone who says “CHECK YOUR FACTS”, without backing up their own just wants to throw out catch phrases. Here is where I laugh at the two major political parties. Neither one of them are for the American people. The Republicans and the Democrats are in it for themselves and their contributors. That is why we need term limits for all political position. If not this will never change.

As we can see the Republican primary is starting to heat up. The candidates that are planning to run for the nomination are already in the race. There were a few that were expected to be in, but have either dropped out (Donald Trump) or others that have decided not to enter after all (Sarah Palin). So what does it take to have the credentials to run for the office of the president of the United States?

From what I can tell…nothing but money. President Obama when he ran for office, he had no experience as an executive or even as a legislator. Yes he was a Senator, but when he was a Senator on the state level, he spent most of that time running to be a U.S. Senator. Shortly after becoming the U.S. Senator, he was running to be president. So where did he get his experience? During the 2008 election, many people were saying that Sarah Palin didn’t have experience to be president, but in my opinion, she had more experience than Obama since she was a Mayor and the Governor of Alaska.

We are now hearing stories of how Michele Bachmann is not experienced enough to be president of the United States. How is that possible since she has been a Congresswoman for the state of Minnesota since 2007 and that is after six years as a state Senator.

What it all comes down to when having the qualification to be president, of course the statutes written out in the Constitution must be met, but it has to do with money. We have politicians putting up their own money to the tune of million of dollars for a position that will pay $175,000 per year plus benefits. The old saying of, “money makes the world go round”, doesn’t just apply to business. If your think about it, politics is big business. it’s expected this election cycle will have the candidates putting in a combine total of over one billion dollars. I’m amazed how much money is spent to just run for one political position. So it’s definitely big business.

So when you sit back to think about who you’re going to vote for, remember don’t vote for the person who’s had his or her face plastered all over the TV. Don’t listen to the opponent’s smear campaigns. Instead do your own homework and watch the debates each and every time. The debates are the best way to weed through the crap the candidates are saying. I’m not fond of any of the Republican candidates really, but I will be voting for whoever wins the nomination since Obama has done enough of nothing for this economy. What republican voters need to do is to find the best candidate to put on the ticket.

Throughout the past election I witnessed how the main stream media held the candidates to two different standards. To watch any of the network television stations was quite hard for me to do because of the favoritism that was given to President Obama (then candidate), while those same channels attacked the integrity of Senator John McCain and Governor Sara Palin.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more obvious, I was proven wrong.

On Friday, Sara Palin announced that she was stepping down from her duties as governor of the state of Alaska. Whatever her reasons for doing so is her business, but she did share them in her announcement. Since it was a holiday weekend and most of the commentary media were off for the holiday, it wasn’t really discussed until Monday.

After listening to many different show on TV as well as the radio, I find myself appalled by the treatment that this woman is having to go through again. All I heard from the people who didn’t support her last year was that she is a quitter because she still has another eighteen months in her term.

She may be a conservative and a republican, but I see her more as a Libertarian. That is why I supported the McCain/Palin ticket. She’s turned the state of Alaska around and has cut spending and unnecessary waste by an unbelievable amount. Palin had even sold the governor’s private jet. Before she announced her departure from office, she made sure that the right people were put in place to carry on with the policies that she felt that would benefit the state. Again all I hear is that she is a quitter. I don’t look at it that way.

If these people want to label Palin as a quitter, then I guess they have many other politicians to add to that list. Let’s start with Barack Obama, a State Senator who spent most of his time campaigning for the U.S. Senate during his first term. As a U.S. Senator he spent two years of his term campaigning to be President (and continued be be paid) and then still left that office to fulfill his duties as President.

The sad thing is that it doesn’t end there. What about Joe Biden, Rahm Emmanuel and Janet Napolitano? They too did the same thing when it came time to take the position that Obama offered them.

The main stream media has sold out to politicians at the price of the American people. So the next time you’re watching TV, be aware of who you’re listening to.

Last week I received this e-mail from the lovely sheeple of MoveOn.org. I just thought I would share their BS with you, just in case you are one of the lucky few who missed being on their mailing list.

Last week, more than 90,000 MoveOn members chipped in more than a million dollars to launch our youth-registration program—and each got a cool Obama shirt in the process.

The program is off to a great start. We’ve already opened offices in a dozen states, and canvassers are hitting the pavement and signing up tons of young Obama voters every day.But right now, we don’t have enough money to keep these canvassers going full-speed for the next 3-4 weeks until the voter-registration deadlines hit.

Time is short. Can you donate at least $12 today to help us register 500,000 new young voters? If you do, we’ll send you a free Obama shirt.

It’s sad that they’re targeting young people. People who haven’t ever followed politics or only for a short time. That is the only reason that they’re going after them. they figure if they pull them into voting, that they’ll vote for their boy. What really kills me is that they’re going to give them a “cool” shirt. By who’s standard is it a cool shirt? In my opinion, any shirt that has a self-centered, egotistical, narrow-minded racist on it doesn’t make it cool. At this rate he will have us goose-stepping by next summer.

From Red State:

CNN’s Campbell Brown, defending her coverage on Sarah Palin, had this to say:

“Experience is a legitimate issue when John McCain raises it about Obama, and it’s also legitimate for us to raise it about Palin.”

Notice…..”when McCain raises issues about Obama”. The press is not doing it, so McCain has to. But it’s “legitimate” for them to raise issues about Palin.

Interesting.

*cue “Power To The People” by John Lennon*

Subscribers to Us Weekly are angry over the recent Sarah Palin cover issue and thousands have canceled their subscription in the first few hours of the magazine being out. One of the editors was quoted as saying “It’s going to be tough to bounce back from this one. Especially if the advertisers get involved. If they get nervous, that can hurt all of us.”

Say you want a revolution
We better get on right away
Well you get on your feet
And out on the street

Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

A million workers working for nothing
You better give em what they really own
We got to put you down
When we come into town

Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

I gotta ask you comrades and brothers
How do you treat you own woman back home
She got to be herself
So she can free herself

Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Now, now, now, now
