Left And Right Politics

…plus the cream in the center.

Another first for the Republicans….this convention is the first time in history that the Log Cabin Republicans, an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual) rights organization, has been a fully credentialed official guest of the Republican committee.

From The Advocate:

Steve Schmidt, senior campaign strategist for the McCain campaign, stopped by a Log Cabin Republican luncheon Thursday to welcome the group to the convention. “I just wanted to take a second to come by and pay my respect and the campaign’s respect to your organization and to your group,” said Schmidt, who many view as the new architect of the Republican Party. “Your organization is an important one in the fabric of our party.”

In his brief remarks, Schmidt weaved in a personal anecdote about his lesbian sister and her relationship to him, his wife, and his children. “On a personal level, my sister and her partner are an important part of my life and our children’s life,” he said. “I admire your group and your organization and I encourage you to keep fighting for what you believe in because the day is going to come.”

If the Republican Party does all that, who needs a Libertarian Party?I think the Tea Party has taken a lot of LP issues and run with them much more effectively than the LP ever did. To me, the LP is now just a vehicle for protest votes when the Reps and Dems nominate statists.Yeah, eventually I’d like to legalize heroin and abolish most cabinet departments, but we’ve got enough on our hands trying to roll back what Obama has done.

America needs the Libertarian party. the Republicans and the Democrats have totally ruin this country. As for the Tea Party, they originated out of Ron Paul’s Campaign For Liberty. It was a Libertarian party group until the establishment Republicans hijacked it so they wouldn’t lose their voting base. Never mind what Obama has done, what about the major damage Congress has done over the past 40 years. We still have to fix that too.
