Freedom Of The Press
The first amendment goes something like this…
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Basically when you hear someone mention the first amendment, it’s usually in regards to freedom of speech and the press. That doesn’t mean that the press is to have a bias opinion or to even inject their beliefs in reporting the news. I’m not talking about talk shows or the round-table type discussion shows. I’m referring to actual news shows. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case any longer and the “sheeple” of this country don’t know any better.
When a news broadcast talks about Palin’s inexperience (which is done everyday since her name was added to the ticket), there is never any mention of Obama’s lack of experience from the same show. We’ve watched during the primaries how the news coverage was very protective toward Obama while they attacked Clinton the whole time. If it wasn’t for regular Americans and bloggers starting to bring out the REAL news about Obama short-comings, it would have been a total run-away for the nomination in the Democratic party, but it was too late in the primaries to make a difference. Hillary started to win the states at the end of the race, but like I said, it was too late.
It’s a shame that the main stream media is controlled by the government and it’s more noticeable than ever before. Reports of Palin being investigated for the firing of a State Trooper have been in the news on a regular basis, but the news of a American citizen filing a law suit against Obama in regards of his eligibility of running for President has not been mention on TV one bit.
I have stopped listening to the main stream media (TV) for many years and I’m glad I did. Just for the hell of it, I turned on the news this morning to see how long it would take before I had enough of the rhetoric and I was able to make it about 45 minutes. So much for great non-bias news reporting.
