Best Lead Actor Goes To Barack Obama

Posted by Joanne On July - 29 - 2008

Days after Barockstar Obama pimped out his children to Access Hollywood (Access Hollywood??? I thought he was running for president not best actor in a leading role) the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee said he regretted thrusting his two young daughters in the media spotlight. He said “”I think that we got carried away in the moment. We were having a birthday party and everybody was laughing, and suddenly this thing cropped up, and I didn’t catch it quickly enough, and I was surprised by the attention it got.”

Yeah, because Access Hollywood crashed their birthday party out of the blue. It just…happened

Stuff like that happens to me all the time.

So what did Barockstar and his wife/campaign surrogate do? What any parent who was regretful they pushed their young children in the spotlight. Put them on the cover of People Magazine, of course!

Senator Ted Stevens

It looks like the abuse of power has reared it’s ugly head. It was just announced that Senator Ted Stevens has been indicted on seven counts of false statement in regards to financial disclosure forms that were filed 1999-2006.

Sen. Stevens has had dealing with a company named Veco, who has given the Senator gifts that add up to about $250,000. The gifts included extensive reconstruction of his personal home in Alaska. That may not seem too bad to some, but when you include the fact that he also granted certain contracts and privileges the the Senator awarded Veco.

The news just came out and there will be more to come. During the Department of Justice news release they wanted to let the American people that “these are allegations and that the Senator has not been proven guilty of anything at this time” Who do they think they are by putting in a “disclaimer of innocence” for the Senator. They never seem to do it for the common person.

I Own My Vote

Posted by Billy On July - 29 - 2008

There are 18 million Hillary Clinton voters that are not taking no for an answer. There is a petition going around title “I Own My Vote” (the link is listed below). It states that Sen. Obama does not have the required amount of delegates it takes to get the nomination. The super-delegate are not obligated to make their final decision until the convention. The petition will be brought to the Democratic National Convention in hopes to get Hillary the nomination.
This little excerpt from the petition says it all.

I own my vote. It does not belong to any party. It does not belong to any candidate. It does not belong to any mob that would impose its will on me. Only I can decide how to use my vote, and I can decide based on any criteria I choose. Therefore I pledge not to give my vote to anyone who does not earn it.

Campaign Ads

Posted by Billy On July - 28 - 2008

It’s amazing what a candidate will say in an ad. Barack Obama has released a campaign ad in Spanish recently. Beside that fact we’re in America and our nation’s language should be English (I’ll save that for another post), who is he trying to fool with his partial information in this ad?

Here is the transcript of the ad in English, that I found at No Quarter.com.
(what’s in parenthesis is just my commentary)

Some people have power and connections.
(like the Senator.)

But most of us have to make our own way through life.
(Isn’t that the way it’s suppose to be?)

This is true even for the man who could become the next President … Barack Obama.

He grew up without a father – raised by his mother with the support of his grandparents.
(Do you mean the two Muslim men?)

Obama never forgot his roots ….
(Yes he did, he’s half white too.)

He worked with churches to help families get job training and after-school care for their children.
(None of which were Spanish speaking churches.)

In the State Senate, he passed a law that helped reduce the welfare roles by over 80% by helping families to secure jobs.
(OK, I’ll give him that one.)

And despite the political pressure, Obama has stood with us for immigration reform and spoke out for our veterans.
(to make it easier for illegals to say here.)

It’s time we had a President who understands we all deserve a chance to make our own way.
(With more programs that we’ll pay for in the way of taxes.)

Before anyone thinks I’m a McCain supporter, I have to say that the only thing that I stand for is what’s best for America. The campaign ads have always been a farse and always will be. I take them with a grain of salt and do my own research of each candidate. Unfortunately, most people believe the hype and uses the campaign ads as gospel. There is too much mud-slinging in the ads and each candidate should speak of their own accomplishments.
